Hugh here for Becca

Hugh MasekelaRenowned South African musician, Hugh Masekela is in town to support singer Becca at the launch of her Sugar album at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra tomorrow.


Becca’s album, a 12-track collection of assorted styles, is on the EKB Records label and was put out on the market a few weeks ago. EKB Records is a partner of the South Africa-based Chissa Entertainment Group of which Masekela, is a Chairman.


Masekela has helped prop Becca’s career and played flugelhorn on her I Love You song. He will auction one of his treasured trumpets at the function to raise funds for projects being undertaken by Helplink, a non-governmental organization founded by Shaida Buari.


King Ayisoba, Kwabena Kwabena, Black Prophet, Mac Tontoh and Austrian singer, Sherlene, will all be Becca’s guests at the launch.


EKB Records boss, Kiki Banson told Showbiz that Friday’s event marks Becca’s formal outdooring to the world and she is poised for a spectacular performance. “She’s eagerly looking forward to tomorrow. She’s been rehearsing very hard and will display all her skills as a singer, dancer, songwriter and a complete entertainer.”


Becca’s 11-piece band will back her to perform tracks from the Sugar album at the launch which has been themed “I Believe I Can”.
