Hiplife legend Reggie Rockstone has emphasised that he never hesitates to address false rumours about himself or his brand, especially on social media.

In a discussion with GhanaWeb TV’s "Moans and Cuddles," hosted by Patricia Rockson Hammond, Reggie explained that he tackles these rumours because they can significantly impact one’s life.

"Even in the biblical texts, it tells you the power of the tongue," Rockstone said. "It's not everything that comes to your head that you have to say, but if you go to my social media, anything anyone says, I will reply unless I don’t see it."

Reggie described his strategy for dealing with online trolls, stating, "Most trolls are not very intelligent anyway. And I'm a rapper, a wordsmith. So when I engage you, the troll, you will even give up."

He recounted a specific rumour challenging his role in the creation of the Hiplife genre in Ghana.

"At one stage, out of the blue, Ghanaians started this whole narrative that I did not start Hiplife. If I had remained quiet, I would have been erased from history."

Rockstone disclosed that it was his aunt who encouraged him to speak out.

“My aunt called me and said, ‘Reggie, they are trying to change your history. You better say something." He recalled

Despite the ongoing rumours, Reggie Rockstone remains steadfast in his legacy.

“It's so disgraceful that when I do interviews, people ask me, ‘We hear you didn’t bring Hiplife. There’s not an iota of proof anywhere that tells you that somebody else started Hiplife before me. But you know, they’ll try."
