Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei, an avid supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has described himself as a future president of Ghana.
In a post that has gathered attention on social media, the actor shared a photograph of himself with the current vice president and NPP flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The tweet featured David Osei and Bawumia in a single frame, with the actor referring to Bawumia as both the "incoming president" and himself as the "future president."
The post, which also featured images of some industry stakeholders including Prince David Osei himself, playwright George Quaye, artiste Samini, and some other dignitaries and politicians, exuded confidence and faith in his belief.
"The incoming president and the future president in one pose. It's possible with God. You can only operate on the frequency you attract and the manifestation is sure!!!" he posted.
His post was met with backlash on social media, with many citizens accusing him of choosing politics over the well-being of the nation.
"Seriously speaking, you don't even qualify to become the president of GHALYWOOD, let alone a nation., an X user said.
Lol," "Obviously Party first over National interest, Sad Reality," "I think Ghanaians are above the introduction of ‘celebrities’ to induce votes. This is not the then Ghana mate, we are in a new era and Ghanaians are going to vote according to how comfortable they feel in your current government," were some of the reactions.
