Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, John Setor Dumelo, has emphasised his commitment to the development of his constituency following his election to office.
Speaking to the media on January 7, 2025, Dumelo expressed determination to create jobs for his constituents, pledging that he would not fail them.
"I am focused on attracting more businesses to Ayawaso West Wuogon, to create employment opportunities. Even when I won the election, I couldn't believe it at first. I thought maybe it wasn't true. But sitting here today and taking the oath of office, I realize that I am indeed the Member of Parliament," he said.
Dumelo assured his constituents that he would remain true to his promises; "I wouldn’t fail the people because they gave me their vote. Everywhere I go, they say, 'John, I voted for you, and I don’t want you to fail.' That is what motivates me. I am not here to fail the people."
He also reiterated his continued support for students at the University of Ghana, stating that he would keep assisting them with resources as long as he stays in office.
"I have been helping students, and I will continue to do so until the four years elapse. My resources will never run out," he added.
