Ghanaian rapper Dadie Opanka, has said he has forgotten it has been four years since his colleague musician, Castro, disappeared while jet skiing but believes he is alive.
“Funny enough, could you believe that I’ve forgotten that it’s been four years now since his [Castro’s] disappearance. It was this morning that I came across it when I was checking something on YouTube, I’ve even forgotten that it’s been four years now because it’s been a long time now,” he told Classfmonline.com in an exclusive interview on Tuesday, 6 July 2018.
The “wedding car” hitmaker however noted that he believes Castro will return someday.
“I have faith that Castro will return, as long as we haven’t found a body, we haven’t found him dead, I think there’s a possibility that Castro might come back, and also, God is not done with his miracle works, it’s been four years now, but l believe that by God’s will, we’ll find him,” he stated.
The Tema-based rapper said he does not want to accept that Castro is dead because, no one has proven that he is. “I don’t want to accept that Castro is dead, by God’s will, if only he is alive, surely, God will bring him out, but if he is dead, it’s my prayer that God keeps him but I still have the faith that he’s not dead as I haven’t seen his body and no one has also proven that he’s dead.”
Castro and his female friend, Janet Bandu, went missing while jet skiing on 6 July 2014 in the waters of Ada.
The incident happened at the Peace Holiday Resort, a beach resort in Ada, in the Eastern part of the Greater Accra Region where the musician and his friend, Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan had gone for pleasure.
