Budding dancehall artiste Ebony Reigns says she is the Queen of the Street and must only be compared to fellow dancehall artiste Kaakie, whom she says she has a lot of respect for.
The 2016 VGMAs unsung nominee has always maintained that Kaakie is Ghana’s best female dancehall artiste who cannot be compared to any other.
Speaking exclusively to 3news.com, the Kupe hitmaker, who is known for dressing provocatively, said the only female artiste she would like to be compared to in Ghana is Kaakie, adding that they are very similar lyrically.
“My style is completely different from them and they are all after the dancehall thing but that’s not really my thing and I’m not concentrating on that”.
According to Ebony, she is the Queen of the Street and is not perturbed what others make of it.
“I am the ‘Queen of the Streets’ and I don’t really see them or care what anyone thinks.
“The closest person anybody can compare me to in Ghana is Kaakie, because lyrically we are kind of almost on the same path,” she added.
She further stated that she doesn’t want to be compared to any of the other female dancehall artiste. “I don’t want to be compared to none of the others because my style is completely different and unique”.
