Mr. Nana Opoku Kwarteng, father of late dancehall act, Ebony Reigns, known in real life as Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, has opened up on the state of his family weeks after his daughter’s unfortunate passing.
Speaking in an interview with Joy News and sighted on Ghpage.com, father of the late artiste said he found it difficult to sleep knowing full well that he could not bring his ‘queen’ back to life.
He added that his other daughter, as well as other family members, were ‘down’ due to the demise of their 21-year-old family member.
He said the days and weeks following the untimely demise of his daughter had a rippling effect on the entire family and it was evident in their mood.
He revealed that as a responsible father, he was bent on taking legal action against any individual who made false allegations against his late daughter but ‘pleaded’ for more time to get to that aspect.
He then revealed that the family members were open to donations and benevolence from the general public in giving Ebony Reigns a befitting burial.
However, he stated emphatically that the family of the late singer was more than capable to give their daughter a memorable funeral.
Ebony died in a gory accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road while returning to Accra from Sunyani. Her childhood friend and PA, Franky Kuri and one air force official, Francis Atsu Vondee, who posed as a bodyguard also died in the car crash.
The final funeral rites and burial service of the late Dancehall diva Ebony Reigns have been scheduled for March 24, 2018 instead of the first date, March 17.
The postponement follows difficulties to secure a big enough venue for the funeral. She will later be buried at the Osu Cemetery after the final funeral rites are held in Accra.
