Ace veteran actor,William Addo aka Akpatse has congratulated President John Mahama for settling the hospital bills for the second surgery on his (William Addo) right eye.
The veteran actor,William Addo who needed Ghc10,000.00 to undergo glaucoma and cataract surgery on both eyes, had a successful first surgery on his left eye at a cost of Ghc5,000.00. This was by the kindness of media personalites such as Kwame Sefa Kayi,Bola Ray ,Akwesi Aboagye, and Isaac Vulsah following a passionate appeal.
Since glaucoma and cataract affected both eyes of the actor, Akpatse made another appeal for the remaining Ghc5,000.00 to enable him undergo the second surgery on his right eye.
Fortunately, through President Mahama's project"Celebrities for Mahama" which seeks to better the welfare of Ghanaian celebrities in the creative arts sector, the bills for William Addo's second surgery on his right eye has been paid.
Mr Beautiful, who is the coordinator of the project ,on behalf of President mahama, paid the Ghc5,000.00 meant for the second surgery at the inter-star eye clinic and laser centre at Osu near the old American Embassy on the 4th of July.
Speaking to Reagan Mends of www.razzonline.com, William Addo congratulated President Mahama for his kind gesture but appealed to him again:
"I'm very happy the president has come to my aid. I have indeed felt his better Ghana agenda impact.I'm very much grateful to him. This really came as a blessing to me".
"But I have made another passionate appeal to him that apart from the surgery I'm going to buy medicine at a cost of Ghc500.00 every month till I die else I may again lose my sight so he should help me on that.
Again since I don't want to be a nuisance to the public,he should get me something to make me more independent and mobile",Akpatse added.
According to Akpatse, the president accepted his plea by telling him to formally channel all his predicaments to him through Mr Beautiful who happens to be the coordinator of the project.
