Veteran Ghanaian actress, Grace Omaboe, widely known as Maame Dokono, has revealed that she quickly deleted her social media accounts sometime back due to incessant attacks and criticisms from faceless people who barely know her.
According to Maame Dokono, many Ghanaians hide behind various social media platforms and attack people for no apparent reasons.
Speaking to Adom TV at the forecourt of the State House on Saturday, the veteran actress couldn’t fathom why a mammoth crowd would gather to pay their last respect to the late Ebony, but failed to show her same love when she needed it the most.
Maame Dokono who was visibly not happy about the posture of some faceless individuals on social media insisted that, many Ghanaian on social media are judgmental when it comes to appreciating and celebrating the entertainment icons.
To her, "Ebony was young but talented musician wanting to do a lot of things in life but only needed a bit of help and coaching." However, the young talented singer was condemned to ‘death’ by a lot of ‘hypocrites’ who had the opportunity to extend a helping hand to her.
When asked in her interview whether she faced a similar attack in her career, the experience actress answered in affirmative.
“I was almost forty when I became a superstar. I wasn’t listening to what people said so I went on and on,” the actress said.
Maame Dokono added that, “I didn’t want anyone to criticise me, I always wanted to do what God put on my mind. So I closed down all my social media accounts at a point to avoid all those unwarranted attacks on my personality.”
