It is most surprising to see marriages of gospel musicians to Pastors hit the rocks, especially, since they are perceived to have a deeper understanding of the Bible which speaks against divorce.

Just like all persons, who are bound to have shortfalls in their relationships and marriages, Ghanaians gospel musicians who are married to pastors are not any different.

In March 2020, there were reports that Agnes Opoku Agyemang, had stated her regrets of marrying Pastor Cudjoe, her ex-husband, explaining that she was not lucky marrying a man of God as she wept and was very unhappy throughout the marriage.

Speaking for the first time about the reports in an interview with Kofi TV, monitored by GhanaWeb, she revealed that it was Pastor Cudjoe of Fire chapel in Kumasi, who opted out of their union but not her.

She reiterated that although she was not going to give much details about her past marriage, she added that being a Pastor's wife is a calling from God.

"Sometimes being a Pastor's wife is a calling as well as being a Pastor. The person might think it fetches lots of money. Also, you might return if God doesn't call you as a Pastor's wife.

"I didn't divorce my husband, he left me. God says, he has called many but he will select a few," she said in the Twi dialect.

The 'Menpese Mesan M'akyi' hitmaker advised that one should not be too quick to judge people for their actions and decisions since it is only God who is the best position to do that.

Aside Empress Gifty, Obaapa Christy, Esther Smith, Diana Hopeson, the latest to have her marriage collapse as a gospel musician is Joyce Blessing, though she was not married to a pastor.
