I didn’t take a dime for producing #PaeMuka album - Hammer

Renowned Ghanaian record producer, Edward Nana Poku Osei, popularly known as Hammer, says he did not take any money for producing Obrafour’s “Pae Mu ka” album some twenty (20) years ago, ABC News Ghana can report.

In an interview monitored with 3FM’s Giovani Caleb and monitored by ABC News Ghana, Hammer revealed he was asked by Abraham Ohene Djan to quote an amount for the production of the full album but he declined.

His response was, “All I need is for you to write the Last two at the end.”

Hammer recounts what transpired at the time as the project was being considered. “It was our first time doing this, all the four member-team on this project and Obrafuor himself had no professional experience, we were all new to this but it was a risk we took happily,” he said in the interview with 3FM’s Giovani Caleb

“Not making a cedi from the Album, but the album brought lots of good tidings to each and everyone of us. The album attracted lots of buyers, we didn’t sell it and I didn’t get a cedi out of it, we wanted to make a statement with this project and we are glad we did,” he added.
