Music legend, Julius Kojo Antwi has told listeners of Obuasi based Shaft FM 98.1he is not into high life music but rather does what he calls African Popular Music ‘Afro Pop’, of which he was part of the originators.
Mr. Music Man was on the official Drive Time show with Romeo Kofi Debrah where he told listeners he is not comfortable when people term his songs as high life. According to the ‘Me nya ntaban’ hit maker, as an African, God has blessed him with a lot of music genres, not just one aspect of it.
“Romeo, I’m an African, so I hear kpanlogo, Agbadzar, Adowa, Asode and other traditional music tunes, so I try to mix them to get nice tunes which will be pleasing to ears. Even though you will hear elements of high life, it’s never high life” he stressed
13 Albums and still counting
When Kojo was queried by Romeo on the number of albums he has done so far, The Amiraka hit maker quickly came in.
“I have done 13 albums, don’t worry about the number what matters most is the quality of the tracks on the Album” he stated
