Ghanaian soul, afrobeat and hip-hop musician, Michael Takyi-Frimpong known by the stage name Lord Paper, says he does not regret his debut “Awurama” music video, which was widely condemned for being sexually explicit.

Lord Paper literally broke the internet in 2016 when he released the music video for his debut single “Awurama”.

The video which was eventually taken off Youtube, had many Ghanaians talking about the new entrant into the Music industry.

Three years down the line, Lord Paper tells TV3’s Bright Nana Amfoh on New Day Monday, the experience he got from releasing that video has been a learning curve for him.

According to him, he does not regret it but rather has learned lessons which kept him going.

“I don’t. Like I said, it’s been a learning a process”, he said, when asked if he regrets the video.

Out with a new song titled “Dzigbordi”, Lord Paper hopes to use the song to campaign against tribalism as the theme of the song hinges on lovers who are disapproved by their families because of their tribal differences.

“It’s speaking about tribalism, it’s a girl who is Ewe and a guy who is an Asante who are dating and their parents don’t agree just because they are from different tribal background”, he said.

Commenting on the Ghana music industry, Lord Paper said musicians need to be more united in their quest to grow the music business.
