Popular Ghanaian Gospel musician Edward Akwasi Boateng has descended heavily on award Organizers in Ghana.

Edward Akwasi Boateng, who claimed he had lost total interest in award schemes in Ghana, said the organizers are not competent enough to organize such an event.

"I have a whole lot of issues against them but what I will say is, awards in Ghana have been compromised."

Speaking in an interview with Dayan Aduhene Gyamfi on Price FM Personality Profile, Edward Boateng alleged that, organizers of award events only select and award musicians whom they receive kickback from.

According to him, the organizers of Ghana Music Awards are doing business with what music composers spent huge sums of money to produce.

"I sing to praise my creator and fans but not for ordinary plywood."

"I dislike a thing that have been compromised, that’s why I don’t want my name to appear on any award scheme; besides awards in Ghana are mere plaques."
