Most musicians in Kumasi have accused Rap Dacta Okyeame Kwame of doing nothing to help the music industry in the city.

The accusation intensified when he released “Ksi Boys” with Flowking Stone, Strongman, Cabum and Kunta Kinte. To many, Okyeame Kwame only helps his younger brothers and some selected few from the city, but Okyeame Kwame says others.

The “Small Small” singer in an interview with Tony Best on Solid FM in Kumasi refuted claims that he has not given helping hand to Kumasi artiste According to BRA Kwame; he has helped many artistes in many ways.

He explained that helping an artiste is not just by working with the individual but how your life has also influenced the artiste.

“… it is not true because the support has been there. If Michael Jackson and Bob Marley who inspire you are dead, they can still inspire you by you taking your time to identify what they did that made them successful and did same.

When an artiste needs help, he needs two main types of help. Either help with an idea or financial help. When you are choosing any of these ways to help an artiste, you have to make sure it will be sustainable.

In connection with the ideas, one of the main ways out is to organise seminars and bring these upcoming musicians to come and learn many things. That is the stage I am at the moment that I have formed a group to help make this possible.”

Okyeame Kwame also disclosed that the music industry has changed so no musician should wait for a mainstream artiste to come to his aid.
