Entertainment entrepreneur, Baba Sadiq, has clarified his stance on his year-long feud with Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy.

According to him, while he has no major issue with the “Jejereje” hitmaker, Stonebwoy needs to learn to be more tolerant of differing opinions.

The tension between the duo escalated when Baba Sadiq publicly supported King Promise over Stonebwoy for the Artiste of the Year award at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

His endorsement, however, led to backlash from some of Stonebwoy's fans, which further intensified when Stonebwoy allegedly made an unwelcome phone call to Sadiq's wife.

This incident prompted Baba Sadiq to take legal action against Stonebwoy, accusing him of trying to involve his wife in their professional dispute.

Stonebwoy, on the other hand, denied the allegations made by Baba Sadiq, branding them as false and defamatory.

During an interview on 3FM, Baba Sadiq clarified that his preference for King Promise to win the award should not have been misconstrued as animosity towards Stonebwoy.

He stated that Stonebwoy should have been tolerant of his opinion instead of trying to silence him as he had done to others.

“I don't have a problem. My problem and I've told Stonebwoy before on the phone and everything is that simple. You are an opinionated guy yourself. I'm an opinionated guy myself. You have to be tolerant of people's opinions. There's nothing wrong with me saying I prefer King Promise to win the Artiste of the Year award. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

“That is tolerance. It is not me passing an opinion and you calling my wife and trying to do all that. You think the things you did to Mz Gee and co, you can do that to me, try to shut me up?

“You can't just simply shut me up. I'm beyond that. Particularly when I'm right. Initially, when I said that he had called my wife, they said I was lying. And then he went to sit on the radio and confirmed that he had called her,” he said.

Despite the controversy, Sadiq reaffirmed his respect for Stonebwoy and claimed that he had made efforts to support and elevate the artist in Ghana.

“So, on the issue of the Artiste of the Year, it doesn't mean I hate him or anything. The things we've done to protect Stonebwoy in this country to project and elevate him at a lot,” he added.
