Born at Hinahini in the Ashanti region to a farmer and a trader who all hails from Zebilla in the Upper east region, surprisely to many because he has command over the Akan language. Joseph Mensah needs no introduction in Ghana gospel but the journey to his current status was never found on a silver platter.

He announced his presence in 2002 with his maiden album titled Kakyereno(Tell him) which was produced by Elder Samuel Anyan but it was not highly recognized because the promotion was not effective according to the musician because the producer faced some personal difficulties.In 2003,he came out with Anadwo Boja which became an instant hit nationwide under Ankobeahene records and was nominated for song of the year and artiste of the year at the Ghana gospel music award in 2004.

The ‘’Anadwo Boja’’ hitmaker currently having 6th studio recording albums,disclosed in a telephone interview with Kofi Asante on A1 Radio from his base in Kumasi that penetrating through the industry is the divine intervention because life was very difficult for him to the extent that there are times he needed to chew gari raw and drink water to survive.

He sorrowfully indicated that he could not continue his education due to financial difficulties later went on to learn a vocation in masonry.
