I hope Mahama doesn’t join any debate! - Bridget Otoo fumes

Ghanaian broadcaster, Bridget Otoo, has counseled the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. John Dramani Mahama, not to participate in any presidential debate.

She holds the view that Mahama's established political stature negates the need for him to validate his credentials through debate participation.

Bridget Otoo highlighted that Mahama's chief competitor, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has historically abstained from such debates.

She insists that the NDC leader should not 'belittle' himself by engaging in debates with Bawumia as the election day looms.

“I hope John Mahama doesn’t join any debate! The driver didn’t want to debate JM but JM should descend into the lying den of the mate! No thank you,” she declared on X.

These remarks came on the heels of Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Africa, announcing the impending 2024 Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) presidential debate, slated to occur before the general elections.

Mr. Franlin Cudjoe disclosed that journalists Emefa Apawu and Evans Mensah are anticipated to have pivotal roles in the debate.

With the elections drawing near, it remains to be seen if Mahama will confirm his participation in the upcoming debate.
