Lisa Quama, a member of the DWP group, has stated that she chose not to burden her parents with financial issues while growing up.

She made these comments while explaining her reasons for hustling on the streets early and joining the DWP Academy.

In an interview on Joy Prime, the talented dancer expressed that, despite the lack of respect for dancers at the time, her love for dance served as a source of inspiration.

"People didn't respect dancers those days because they were no money in dancing, but I was doing it for passion. We went for shows and we weren't paid, but I was more of a hustler so, I didn't want to rely on my parent's money. And since I was getting good grades, they didn't prevent me from dancing," she said.

Lisa recounted a time in Senior High School when she was punished for dancing in her school uniform.

"My manager told me that Temi wanted me to dance for her, while in school... They asked me to dance in my uniform, so I thought it would resonate with the fact that I was in school and still dancing. After doing the video, the headmaster saw it I was suspended for 6 months with my colleagues." she added.

She also mentioned that she now receives messages from former colleagues who want her to inspire the current generation at Ghana National.

"Right now, I receive messages from old students asking me to come and motivate the kids," she noted.
