Michael Ola Michael Ola

The former Public Relations Officer of Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG), Michael Ola has disclosed that he leaked Kumawood Actor Kofi Adu affectionately called Agya Koo’s tape.

He said he could not sit aloof whiles the award-winning actor drag’s the Mahama led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government into the mud.

The talented actor endorsed the Presidential nominee of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP ) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo -Addo some weeks ago, saying he has been jobless for the past five years.

But speaking on Abusua FM’s Abusua Entertainment hosted by Austine Woode, the former PRO of FIPAC wondered why Agya Koo who accused film producers of side-lining him years ago, would turn round to accuse the government of collapsing the industry.

Agya Koo is caught on tape saying he joined NPP because he was not given his share of monies and goodies doled out to Kumawood stars.

Mr. Ola explained that a frustrated Agya Koo joined the NPP after he was denied access to the president to make negotiations.

He claimed Agya only joining NPP after the denial, stressing that Agya Koo dared him that he has a different agenda for joining NPP.

According to him, the comedian accepted NPP’s offer when he was approached, saying the leaked tape is just to prove that Agya Koo has been throwing dust in the eyes of the public.

‘I have not posted the leaked tape on any WhatsApp group platform, I just released it to the media, because some time ago I came out to say that we should get the import of Agya’s statement during his press conference right. We were debating about his statement, we were only trying to tell people that what he said cannot be true, 1: you said due to the mismanagement of the economy by President Mahama, the film industry has collapsed, and that you have not been working for the past years.

2: You said the industry is on the verge of collapsing due to President Mahama’s inefficiency, but those of us who stay with you in Kumasi know that you had accused film producers of sidelining you, so why turn round to accuse the President, so is either you are trying to be disindigenoius or you have a different agenda.

So I drew his attention that we have him on tape for his reasons for joining NPP, and he dared me, so we also leaked it. We wanted to prove a point, the tape is not doctored, the purpose of the tape is to tell the whole world that he was denied access to the President to make negotiations,’ he explained.

He said the tape was given to them by a whistle blower after negotiations and that he cannot disclose the person’s name.

Agya Koo is yet to respond to the leaked tape which a section of the public has said it’s doctored.
