Popular movie producer, Socrate Sarfo, who also doubles as an entertainment critic, has vowed to organise a demonstration against the president elect, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo, if he turns his back on the creative art industry.
He made this statement last Saturday on Adom Entertainment Hall hosted by Mike2.
According to him, he would be first person to lead a demonstration against Nana Addo if he fails to fulfill the promise he made to the creative art industry.
The Movie Africa boss said he and his colleague creative art players did not support and campaign for Nana Addo and the NPP because of money but for the betterment of the industry.
“I will be the first person to organise a demonstration if the promises of Nana Addo to the create art are not fulfilled – I will lead a demonstration against him. Trust me, I am not doing this or I did not go the villages or we endorsed him because of what will come into our pockets but the betterment of the industry”, he revealed.
Socrate disclosed that he wanted a government that would fix the policies to change the destiny of the seemingly collapsed industry.
He is of the view that if the policies are working, theatres are built and movies are shown, it would go a long way to enhance their works.
“If I vote for you to come to power and you don’t perform I will not keep quite, no I am not interested in the money you will give to me, rather I prefer a long term investment into the industry to boast the business.
If these theatres are there I can just go there and show my movie to get something in my pocket”, he said.
