I’m not part of VGMAs Board – Richie Mensah barks at critics

Musician and music producer Richie Mensah has been fingered for the six nominations each of his three artistes – MzVee, Kuami Eugene, and Kidi had at the 2018 Ghana Music Awards.

Critics who believe Richie pulled strings to make the nominations for the three musicians possible claimed he is part of this year’s board so it was easy like ‘ABC’ for him. According to them, his presence on the board made magic for the Lynx Entertainment artistes thereby each gaining six nominations.

But Zionfelix.net hears Richie Mensah is not happy the false claims the public has made against him following the nominations of his artistes. In a series of tweets, the peeved music producer made it clear that he is not a board member of the 19th edition of the prestigious music awards.

He disclosed that the last time he served the VGMAs board was four years ago. He attributed his artistes’ nominations for this year’s awards to their hard work.

“I think I need to shout this out loud to clear the air. I am not on the VGMA board. I was called for the board in 2014 but haven’t been on it ever again since then. So any nominations my artists get are a result of their hardwork and not of my influence.

We complain that people don’t work hard enough in our industry…so when we work extremely hard with all our hearts it’s sad to see some attribute our success to anything but the hard work.” Richie tweeted.
