‘I’m ready for competition this year’

My dream is to work extra hard and make an impact on the world music scene, Afro-pop artiste, Joseph Ntim Mensah, known in the music scene as JM De Voice, has told the BEATWAVES in an interview.

According to the soft-spoken songwriter, with his style of play and music, he hopes to make more impact first on the African market before going international.

JM De Voice, who has been working hard on his new album titled ‘Timeless’, had already put out a number of singles including ‘Heart on Fire’, ‘This Love’, ‘Just Me’, ‘U Too Fine’, among others.

JM’s quest for growth and knowledge has taken him further as he is catching up with great professionals in the creative arts industry in Ghana and beyond.

His activities in the music industry have probably inspired many music fans to consider a career in music, and he is gradually making his way to the top of the music chart as his fan base keeps increasing every day.

When asked why he didn’t file for Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) nomination, in his response, JM said, “I don’t do music because of awards, music is spiritual and I record only when the inspiration comes.

My debut album ‘African Girl’ with the group Akesifour got nominated for VGMA but awards are not my focus.”
