The Brands and Marketing Manager at Amardia Shopping Center, David Caleb Gborglah, has expressed his dismay over Chef Smith's actions, emphasizing the sacrifices made in vain during the cook-a-thon.
Reflecting on the disappointment of futile efforts, Gborglah recounted the rigorous work and personal compromises he endured to ensure the event's success, often at the expense of his life and family commitments.
In an interview with KofiTV, he described incidents where he rushed to the cook-a-thon location, risking near-accidents on the Accra-Tema Motorway, and even leaving his pregnant wife at home to address urgent issues for Chef Smith's event.
"He knows the sacrifices I made to make this job a success. I remember an instance where I had to rush to the venue using a motorbike on the Accra-Tema Motorway due to an emergency call during the cook-a-thon. I even left my pregnant wife at home, and he was aware. I had no choice but to support and ensure everything was done well," he stated.
Regarding Chef Smith's apology, Gborglah acknowledged it but stressed that legal actions must follow.
"He has apologized, and we've heard it, but now it's up to the police to do their job. Amardia Shopping Center has nothing more to say. It's no longer about us; it's about fraud, and fraud is punishable by law," he affirmed.
Commenting on the financial losses incurred by the company and the feasibility of recovering them from Chef Smith, he expressed skepticism.
"Chef Smith won't be able to reimburse the losses we've suffered because of him. Have you seen his face during the apology? Have you looked at him?" he remarked.
Despite Chef Smith's public apology, there remains widespread public outcry, including from celebrities, demanding accountability and consequences for his actions.
