Gospel musician Evangelist Diana Asamoah is noted for composing campaign songs for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and particularly, the current President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
In the year 2012, Evangelist Diana Asamoah composed and released ‘Wo Na Ma Yi Wo’, to support Nana Addo who was then candidate for the New Patriotic Party.
The musician when asked why she released the track for Nana said, she did the song to help Nana Akufo-Addo because she believes when Nana Addo becomes president; there would be hope for the poor.
Evangelist Diana Asamoah, in the song, said the hand of the Lord was upon Nana Addo because Nana had dedicated his life to assist the needy in society, adding that his free SHS educational policy would go a long way to help the poor in society. In 2016, Evangelist Diana Asamoah released "Nehemiah" (Yen Nhwe Mano Nseei) a song which captured some Ghanaians complaining about the economic hardship under former President Mahama's administration.
Appearing on GH Entertainment hosted by Agyemang Prempeh on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm, the musician when asked why she has never composed a campaign song for the NDC said, she did not receive any direction from God to do so. She told the host that the campaign songs she composed for the NPP came as a result of God's direction.
