The President of the Musicians Association of Ghana, Bice Osei Kuffour popularly known as Obour has stated that he never criticised rising music star Ebony over her fashion sense.
Several media houses in November last year reported that Obour had described Ebony’s dressing style as bad.
“It’s very bad. Again…as a union, as much as we will try to make the public understand the role that our musicians play, that they are in an acting role…they should be cautious of the moral values of the country that they are operating in.
“Lady Gaga could wear it and nobody will cry, will scream foul about it because maybe the environment and the moral values of the country they are in is different from the moral values of the country we are in now. And so we are always advising our musicians to be quite decorous in their way of dressing,” the Konkontibaa hitmaker is reported to have said.
But Obour speaking on Starr Chat Wednesday said he was misrepresented by the media.
According to him, he was only advising the ‘Maame Hwe’ singer to be mindful of the environment she lives in.
“I didn’t criticise Ebony. It was misrepresented, I said people should see her dressing and compare her to an actress who’s playing her role,” Obour told Bola Ray on Starr Chat Wednesday.
