Veteran Gospel artiste Esther Smith has expressed her admiration for the new generation of Ghanaian Gospel musicians whom she says are doing very good.
In an interview with 3FM, Esther Smith cited artistes like Joe Mettle and Kweku Teye, noting their talent and significant contributions to the gospel music scene in Ghana.
"I think the new ones are doing very well because, somebody like Joe Mettle; I use his songs to pray, he’s a very good worshipper. And this guy, Kweku Teye… he’s fantastic. They are also doing their best," Smith remarked.
She acknowledged that, as with any group, there are both good and bad performers, but emphasised that the current gospel music landscape is filled with many talented artistes.
"In every group, there are good ones and bad ones, but there are many good gospel artistes today and these are just some," she added.
Esther Smith is a renowned Ghanaian gospel musician known for her powerful voice and inspiring lyrics. She has released numerous hit songs, including "Nipa," "Me Da Wase," and "Oguamaa Bi."
After a hiatus, she recently announced a live concert tour in Accra and Kumasi in August 2024, marking her return to the music scene.
