Ghanaian musician Nero X has said he regrets campaigning for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In an interview with ZionFelix, Nero X explained how he had previously campaigned for the NPP and supported President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. However, he now regrets that decision.
"Anyone who knows me knows I used to campaign for the NPP, I used to do ‘4 more for Nana,’ but now, I regret doing that," Nero X stated.
He recalled how President Akufo-Addo encouraged citizens to be expressive and active participants in the political process without fear of insults.
"When Nana Addo was coming, he asked us to be vocal about things, he asked us to be citizens, not spectators. I'm just being vocal as a citizen.
"It's about time we stopped being timid and be courageous enough to come out and speak up," he said.
Meanwhile, Nero X highlighted the achievements of John Mahama, particularly in terms of infrastructural projects and economic stability.
"When I compare the two, Mahama nailed it for me. I saw a lot of the things he did, the infrastructural projects he did and all that. Even when he was leaving office, the exchange rate was ok," said the musician.
He emphasized the importance of giving opportunities to different leaders when the current ones are not meeting expectations.
"When you allow someone or a group to do something and they’re not doing it right, if another group comes, you give them the chance," he said.
