The awards ceremony followed three days of various activities in Ghana's capital including a free concert on Thursday night at the Independence Square.
As earlier some Ghanaian stars picked up some awards, although a majority of the honours went outside the country with Nigeria's Davido emerging as the AFRIMA's artiste of the year 2018.
One of the highlights of the night was the performance from Ghana's young disc jockey, DJ Switch who dazzled the audience with her usual dexterity.
Apart from thrilling the crowd, DJ Switch also shocked her fans when she revealed the gargantuan gift she would like when she turns 11 years old on December 12.
Answering a question from Anita Erskine, one of the MCs for the night, on what she would like as a present on her next birthday which happens to be next month, DJ Switch did not mince words as she made her bold request.
"I want a Range Rover," the young girl put it bluntly.
DJ Switch's request, being a huge and unexpected one from a 10-year-old, had the audience shouting and giggling in surprise.
Born Erica Armah Bra-Bulu Tandoh, DJ Switch burst onto the scene as a nine-year-old celebrity when she won TV3' Talented Kidz reality show last year.
She has since been in the limelight and enjoying high praise over her fledgling career In June 2018, Erica became the youngest person to win Ghana's annual DJ award.
Three months later, she opened the Bill and Melinda Gates' Foundation's annual Goalkeepers event in New York, as the warm-up act for French President Emmanuel Macron.
DJ Switch's birthday wish of a Range Rover may not materialise now but with the trajectory of her career, it should be very possible in the near future.
