Ghanaian musician Ice Boss formerly known as DJ Azonto has pleaded with flagbearer of the NDC, John Dramani Mahama to put his face on the Ghana Cedi Note when he wins the 2024 December polls
According to DJ Azonto, he deserves national recognition for entertaining fans with some good music over the past years.
The Amapiano sensation enumerated that his "Fa No Fom" has helped unite the country and its populace, with millions jamming to his songs.
DJ Azonto, in an interview, said he deserves some form of recognition just like the Big Six and plans to do more for the entertainment industry.
"I will campaign for Mahama if he only agrees to use my family's picture to replace the big six. I want my mother, wife, and kids pictures on the Ghana cedi note," he said in an interview.
DJ Azonto further asserted that there will be no song in comparison to 'Fa No Fom' in the next 100 years and says the song has brought more unity in the country.
"The 'Fa No Fom' song is more of an independence anthem, and for that alone, I think I deserve some massive national recognition.
"The song is being played at weddings, political platforms, and funeral grounds; this shows how big the 'Fa No Fom' was and continues to be," he said.
DJ Azonto won several awards with the 'Fa No Fom' hit single and was nominated for the Best New Artiste of the Year at the 2023 Ghana Music Awards.
