Highlife artiste Paa Kwasi will be embarking on a tour dubbed ¨Meet The Fans¨ with the soul aim of reawakening the interest of Ghanaian youth for highlife music.
The ex member of Dobble, told zylofonmediaonline.com that his aim is to kill three birds with one stone as he embarks on this tour.
¨I want to get to the fans and feed them with the kind of music I do, and also bridge the gap and sell the Paa Kwasi brand, together with the kind of music I do¨, he said
Kwasi also intimated the need to take highlife music to the youth, and the other communities of the country.
¨We want to promote highlife. We always complain about highlife been dead. And since most of our youth never grew up with highlife, they are losing touch with the highlife feel. So some of us who have decided to carry on with the highlife genre, should not sit in Accra with the thought of the genre blowing overnight. We need to start creating and bridging the gap¨, he added
He continued by saying, he is also looking at selling Ghana to the world, as his tour will take him to some the tourist sites and since he will also meet a number of chiefs, this he says, will help attract investors into the country.
Paa Kwasi advised his colleagues doing highlife not to stay in Accra and reduce highlife to being played at funerals and pubs, but rather ensure Ghanaians fall in love with their kind of music, highlife.
