'Telemo' hitmaker, Gasmilla, has revealed he is working towards breaking record to win 100 Grammys.
Throughout the 57-year history of the Grammy Awards, the record for most wins in a lifetime is held by Sir Georg Solti, a Hungarian-British conductor who conducted the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for twenty-two years.
Solti has won a total of 31 competitive Grammy Awards out of 74 nominations and was awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996.
His record has since remained unbroken.
But Gasmilla in an interview with Starr 103.5FM said he is positive he would be able to break it.
“What I want is a hundred Grammys. That’s my mark and I will continue to work towards that,".
The ‘International fisherman’ has defied the odds to become a number one hitmaker on the Ghanaian music scene and he attributes it to perseverance and strategic positioning.
“I started with street promotion. Aboodan Toi was a song that made it huge on the street. Radio didn’t play it, TV didn’t show it and I mean I pushed it so hard on the street that radio and TV didn’t have a choice. It was me going from one joint or the other promoting my song.
“It’s been hard. Especially because I came through the back door not the front door. The front door was busy! You have to queue and there are killers out there chaley!” he said.
