I was labelled "breaker of marriages" - Agyemang Prempeh

The host of GH Entertainment on Rainbow Radio (87.5 FM), Agyemang Prempeh said a certain number of Gospel Musicians in the country labelled him ‘breaker of marriages’.

According to him, their accusations stemmed from the fact that he was the first to bring into limelight the controversies surrounding Esther Smith’s marriage that led to the divorce and also the role he (Agyemang) played by discussing and interviewing Christiana Love and the husband that also ended their relationship.

The Radio presenter popularly referred to as ‘Agyemang nie’ was sharing his experience on his show with the topic “Occupational Hazard in the Media” last Saturday after lots of broadcasters participated in the discussion via phone.

Agyeman nie called lots of people in the media ranging from Newspaper Editors, to columnist and radio show hosts to share their experiences on the programme. There were diverse kinds of views including some talking about how they were even threatened.

The programme host said what baffles him most was how 'Gospel Artistes in the country don’t want criticism and will go to every length to attack you with insults, and some to an extent of invoking curses on you'.

A talk show host at Happy FM, Nyansaboakwa, who was a panelist on the show revealed that, misunderstanding on his programme sent him to court on eight (8) occasions but won all the cases.

According to him, ‘people are always happy when you lavish praises on them but they become offended when the tables turn against them’.

A blogger, Kwadwo Asante the Editor of Peacefmonline, revealed on the programme that a mistake on a news bulletin sent him to court for the first time in his life. He mentioned that sometimes people threatened him but that has not made him to lose courage on his job.

Captain Smart, host of Adom Fm morning show (Dwaso nsem), also spoke about how people have confronted him on various occasions after tackling their issues on his programme. He said what is most annoying is after conducting investigative issue and because the person involved is an influential person, the police will throw the case into the garbage.

An entertainment columnist with Daily Guide (Beatwaves), George Clifford Owusu also spoke about how he was locked up in a room by a man and only God knows what was going to happen to him.

He was set free after making calls that he has been kidnapped by that person and if he does not return alive, everybody should ask that person.

The Editor of Razz Newspaper, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, who was also a panelist said even though some people have criticized him vehemently, but none has filed a suit against him.

The topic was duly dealt with and kudos to the host, panelists, producers and all those behind the scenes who contributed to it.

It was concluded that every job has its own hazards and the media too have their own challenges.
