I will end up at 'counter-back' if I say what's on my mind - DKB on 'dumsor', economy

Comedian, DKB Comedian, DKB

Ghanaian comedian DKB has taken to social media to voice his frustration with the current economic situation and the frequent power outages, locally known as 'dumsor,' that are affecting daily life.

In a tweet dated April 26, DKB, real name Derrick Kobina Bonney, explained his absence from the social media platform, attributing it to the distress caused by the nation's economic challenges and the erratic power supply.

He added that if he were to tweet his true feelings about the situation, he might risk ending up at “counter-back" (in police custody), implying he could get into trouble for his outspokenness.

"You've not been seeing my tweets lately cos Chale, the way the bad economy and dumsor dey make I vex daily, If I go tweet, I'll end up for cornerback (behind bars). Who else feels the same?” he posted.

DKB's tweet resonates with many Ghanaians who share similar frustrations, as the country grapples with economic difficulties and inconsistent electricity, which have affected the economy and the well-being of citizens.
