Ghanaian celebrities have been endorsing political parties since 2008. Celebrities such as A Plus, Bulldog, Kwabena Kwabena, Daddy Lumba, John Dumelo, MzBel, have been associated with either of the major political parties in Ghana.

All over the world, celebrities have been seen to endorse parties and political personalities. Oprah Winfrey, Katy Perry, John Legend, are among the numerous American icons who have been seen on a political platform.

There are varying opinions as to whether or not it affect’s the celebrity’s image in the long-run as there is the fear that they might lose a significant number of fans who don’t support their icon’s political party of choice.
