Celebrated broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah has described as unacceptable allegations and claims by some feminists that cooking for a husband is slavery.
The GHone TV icon said she doesn’t see it as slavery and she would continue to cook for her boyfriend.
“It is unacceptable to think that cooking for your man makes you a slave. I cook for my boyfriend and will never stop cooking for him. I don’t understand why there should be a fight between men and women,” she reportedly said on Joy FM.
“We all have our roles to play. If I need a new car, I’m not going to use my money to buy it. I won’t use my money to buy clothes. My husband must buy it for me. In my experience, men have been more helpful to me than women. Women say they should support other women, but they are the ones hurting other women the most,” she added.
In the past weeks, there have been public debates over whether women should continue cooking for their husbands.
Some feminists on social media were of the view that men must know how to cook before they get married, adding that women who cook for their husbands can be likened to slaves.
But majority of women in high positions disagreed with them on various platforms.
