I won't endorse any political party if the money is 'chicken-change' - Bisa Kdei

Ghanaian Highlife musician Bisa Kdei has stated that he would only compose a song for a political party if the money is good enough for him.

Speaking during an interview with Accra-based Hitz FM on September 2, 2024, he stated that his endorsement would depend on the money and the benefits the money would bring.

“If somebody gives me something huge that could help me in such a way that even if people got annoyed at me, I wouldn’t mind, then why not?

“But if it's chicken-change and I end up losing fans, then no,” he said.

Addressing the issues faced by creatives when endorsing political parties, Bisa Kdei explained that many of such decisions are often driven by their financial needs rather than genuine political alignment.

He urged fans to understand that creative expressions are often just acts and should not be taken too seriously.

“There’s something we need to understand when it comes to creatives, it is a feeling, it's just an act. So the fans shouldn’t take things too seriously.

“Many creatives ended up endorsing a party because they needed the money for something important. It probably wasn’t even intentional,” he explained.
