I won't mind shining shoes to look after my family: KKD

Imagine a child being sent to the candy shop to get all the sweets they can afford to eat….well stop imagining…That was the gift The Girls received in the Yellow House. They didn’t have to do much because Kwesi Kyei Darkwa affectionately called KKD was their guest over the weekend.

With so much swag, a trademark of a cautious sharp dresser to meet the occasion, the teetotaler ignited the house with his first secret by laying it bare that, “I don’t smoke and I don’t drink alcohol. I have never taken alcohol, I only do coconut water, smoothies and orange juice”, to the amazement of the Girls.

Ayensua, who is the mother of the house, missed his visit having gone to school giving Frost the opportunity to share the chair and space with KKD. Bashful KKD was proving too much to handle for the Girls when he said if he had to drink milk, it had to come from the original receptacle. This got Jay and Lisa smitten.

To kill his hosts, unrelenting smooth talking KKD shaved his loved for the kitchen when told Jay owned a Kitchen, “Am not allowed to flow a woman to the kitchen because my hands stray,” offered the one-time 26 year old Accra Brewery Company Advertising Manager, to a wild exclamation from the Girls.

The heat and bond was already forming in the Girl House before the interview proper. KKD was born in Tema to Opanyin Kwesi Darkwa who started life in Obuasi area working with Electricity Corporation in Dunkwa and Ohemaa Ama Asukwa.

The first male of six children to his mother, he saw nothing wrong with his father marrying ‘only’ three wives then although he thinks a man can never be fair to any other woman apart from one.

The 46 year old had been had happily until he was ‘happily divorced’ because things were not working out with his wife of 7 years. For a marriage which bore two children, he said they both didn’t want to make each other miserable because it just wasn’t working.

Kwesi Kyei Darkwa went further to say that he gives women a lot of credit for how matured, organized and composed they are irrespective of their age, something men can only dream about.

He runs a company in the UK which manages corporate communications for companies like Ghana International Bank, MoneyGram, Unity Link Financial Services and others said he is not yet rich but he prefers to see himself as ‘comfortable’.

For a man who loved his wife so much, he couldn’t let her go to the UK alone when she wanted to settle there, so he gave up the glitz and glamour to start afresh in the UK. Was KKD ever a security guard in the UK as rumoured?

“I went to the UK with lots of money from Ghana. As an Ashanti man, you have to work, so I worked with a car parking company as a cashier. I wear my Prada and Armani, get to work, change my clothes, do my job, take my money and off to the house I go. It wasn’t bad because in 6 months, I bought my Jaguar,” a proud KKD told the Girls.

For a person who loves to live well, “I moved on to marks &Spencer where I was doing refunds and exchanges. Then after 3 months, I moved to join a shareholding and communications company. I wasn’t borrowing money from anyone and my family was happy.”

He offered an advice that it is not belittling one’s self when they move abroad doing menial jobs, but while looking for what they want to do, people ought to take advantage to do other things that comes their way.

The BET Judge for International Acts said, “I have no shame to shining shoes to look after my family if I have to.”

Is KKD a womenizer? No! he said women love him for the mere fact that he is in front of the camera. The adulations he gets are from lots of people women included.

When asked to answer wisdom or crap he said he never does sex on his first date and that his virginity was stolen from him at age 11.

Fair or dark girls? He likes his girls dark and lovely but light and lively but character is key!

How many girlfriends? “Anyone who counts the grains of rice he eats has no respect for food,” he left it at that.

Does he kiss and tell? “I do tell but not who are or where they come from.

What he wants from relationships? You should be able to hold hands, walk and have a conversation. If you are unable to do this it will only be prostituting not a relationship.
