The choice of lifestyle of any individual is undoubtedly a personal decision.

But should we be worried when our celebrities make us believe that they are wallowing in luxury when in reality, they borrow to keep up with the fake lifestyle?

Recently, singer Sister Afia stated that most female celebrities live fake lives. It seems this might be true as another female celebrity has questioned the need to appear flashy in public while one is in debt.

Actress Tracey Boakye took her turn on Celebrity Ride with Zionfelix and disclosed that she is more interested in building her own house rather than investing in clothes to ‘slay’ on the red carpet.

Responding to claims that she doesn’t slay in her outfits, she asked the rationale behind buying and wearing expensive clothes on the red carpet when one resides in a rented house.

‘Tracey doesn’t slay. That is the word they use….To live in a rented room and slay on the red carpet is not something I fancy…At the end of the month if I don’t get evicted from my house and I don’t owe, I believe in that than pleasing others’, Tracey said.

The actress, who was heavily criticised for her open support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2016 elections, indicated that everyone is at liberty to choice their lifestyle but she prefers to invest in profitable ventures.

Speaking of her investments, the actress who says she is was born in 1991, mentioned that she bought a land and started building her own house at the age of 21.

‘I was 21 years when I did it (bought the land). The chief whom I bought the land from is in Asokwa…I bought the land myself….That is what I want to do. If someone feels proud of buying an expensive dress, why shouldn’t I feel proud of saying I built a house?’

Tracey Boakye advised Ghanaian celebrities to control the stardom they have rather than allowing it to control them.
