Renowned Ghanaian sound engineer Edward Nana Poku Osei, popularly known as Hammer has revealed his secret recipe for producing sounds that work like magic on songs.
It is simply to leave him to work at his own pace.
In an exclusive interview with Ghanaweb, he revealed that, only patience could make him deliver best on any musical project.
According to him, he could “sit down in the studio and play something for you.” Unfortunately, the rushed work would only be to “get you out of my studio.”
But Hammer claims he is not “that kind of producer” as he pays attention to the last letter in his work, often recommending the director for videos for artistes to ensure quality and perfection.
He says involving the director makes it easier to transfer the vibe and frenzy into the director’s work.
“The feeling has to be right,” he said.
Hammer is famous for the work he has done on and with some of Ghana’s greatest hit makers and game changing artistes including, Obrafour, Tinny, Kwaw Kese, Sarkodie, Ayigbe Edem, and others.
As a producer, he is famed as a pioneer and key figure in the popularization of Hiplife and Hip Hop made in Ghana.
He spearheaded hit after hit in the late 90s and early 2000s and many still consider him influential in recent productions from studios and artistes.
