Controversial actor Uche Maduagwu has challenged those who do not celebrate their divorce anniversaries, accusing them of ingratitude toward God.
Maduagwu, however, called on people to change their perspective on divorce, advocating for its celebration to become a norm.
He argues that divorce should be accompanied by festivities because it symbolizes liberation from potential “untimely death.”
According to him, divorce represents courage and freedom from unhealthy relationships, and it should be marked with joy and revelry as a way to express gratitude to God for the strength to break free from what others may still be enduring due to their inability to leave such unions.
He said: “We need to normalize celebrating Divorce and stop making it look like funeral. Divorce is not a sign of failure, it’s a celebration of bravery and freedom.
“People who don’t celebrate their #Divorce Anniversaries are being ungrateful to God because so many people are still in Bad and unhappy #Marriages that they are unable to walk out of.
“So if you are lucky enough to walk out of a #Marriage that does not bring out the #BEST in you, please CELEBRATE, It takes a special GRACE from God to achieve that Freedom.”
