Multiple award winner, Sarkodie’s invitation by Harvard University to speak at the Harvard Business School and African Business conference will have a positive impact on his brand, management of the artiste has said.

The Original rapper who spoke on the theme ‘The Art of the Hustle’, shared with the students his success story, how to innovate among others.

According to Angel, member of Sarkodie’s team, the platform has given the rapper an opportunity to sell himself and Ghana to the world.

“The conference had different people from different walks of life. If for any reason at all it is the first time somebody is getting to hear the name ‘Sarkodie’, it is a plus to the brand. So for us, it is a big deal. And I think with time, we will see beyond what we are seeing now. It will help us as a brand and help Ghanaian music as well,” he said on Pluzz FM’s AM Pluzz on Monday.

Touching on how Sarkodie reacted when he was informed about the invitation, Angel said the artiste did not “see the big deal about it”. He also disclosed it was not difficult for Sarkodie to speak on the topic given because it fell within his scope.

“Sarkodie is confident. He on the other side didn’t really see the big deal about it. For some of us, we knew how big it was and that was when the lawyer came in and schooled him on why it is necessary to take it serious. He didn’t panic, he was given a lecture he relates to. It was about himself, entertainment opportunities Africa has created and our problems as well,” he asserted.

Angel debunked reports that Sarkodie was invited to perform at the 18th Annual African conference which holds at the Harvard University and he [Sarkodie] proposed that he be made to speak to the students as well.

According to Angel, the content of the invitation letter sent them contained both as a portion read, “We believe that the richness of your music experience will be very enlightening and the uniqueness of your music will be very thrilling to our guest who will be coming from different parts of the world to learn more about the diverse business opportunity and cultural experiences that Africa has to offer.”
