'Infighting, backbiting will not help MUSIGA'

The Founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission, Apostle Kojo Safo Kantanka has advised musicians to build a united front to work together for the development of the industry.

He said infighting, backbiting and character assassination would not augur well for the industry.

Apostle Kojo Safo made the call when a delegation of musicians led by the MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kuffour paid a courtesy call on him.

Apostle Safo stressed the need for unity and togetherness among the rank and file of musicians saying that was the best way to ensure the growth and sustenance of the industry.

On his part, the MUSIGA President expressed the Union’s appreciation for the support the Apostle has been giving the industry and musicians.

The Kristo Asafo Mission groomed the likes of Prof Kofi Abraham, Yaw Sarpong and George Jahrah among others where they were members of the Mission’s musical groups.

As an industrialist, Apostle Safo built a multi-purpose drum machine, amplifiers and speakers and other musical accessories.

Meanwhile, the Union has also expressed its sincerest thanks to Dr Ernest Sarpong of Sarpong Ventures and Chairman of the UTV Board of Directors for his support for the industry.

At a meeting with the business magnate, a delegation of musicians led by the MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kuffour commended Dr Sarpong for his continued support for the music industry and the role UTV is playing in promoting music made in Ghana.

On his part, Dr Sarpong assured the Union of his continued support for the industry and applauded the leadership of the Union for its innovative leadership.

Members of the delegation were Rev Fiifi Khan Agyarkwaa, Administrator; Naa Amanua of Wulomei fame; Bob Pinodo the Showmaster of Africa; J.V Owusu, National Welfare Officer and Nana Yeboah of Kakaiku No 2 Band.

At the recent MUSIGA Grand Ball, the Union honored three personalities for their support for the music industry in Ghana.

They are Apostle Kojo Safo of Kristo Asafo, Dr Ernest Sarpong of Sarpong Ventures and Dr Kwabena Duffour former Finance Minister and Governor of the Bank of Ghana.
