Chief Executive Officer of Exclusive Events Ghana Limited, Ms Inna Mariam Patty is threatening to take legal action against persons claiming she pimped former beauty queens.
Lawyers of Ms. Patty, a former beauty queen herself, have described claims that their client exploited former Miss Ghana pageants as “vicious and malicious”.
The Akufo-Addo, Prempeh and Co, solicitors for Inna Patty, said “We are instructed that the said allegations are baseless, categorically untrue, inspired by malice and mischief and only calculated to ridicule, embarrass, disparage and bring our cents’ enviable reputation into disrepute.”
One of the beauty queens, Stephanie Karikari reportedly said Inna Patty “asked me to raise GH¢10,000 a month and sends me to meet men, adding I should be ‘nice’ to them.” But Ms Patty maintained that the ladies are making those allegations because they are “disgruntled”.
She claimed the ladies took advantage of her platform to project their image, and rather “turned round in such undignified manner to denigrate the very platform they had amply benefited from”. “In the interim, we are instructed by our clients to inform the general public, media houses – both print and electronic – and social media bloggers, to desist from the publication of the malicious and defamatory materials in circulation.
“Any publisher of these or similar matter shall be held fully responsible for them as we hold firm instructions from our clients to institute legal action against any such person to vindicate the names of our clients and to recover punitive damages for those publications.
Be advised accordingly,” her lawyers warned in a statement. The allegations are coming at a time the Exclusive Events Ghana Limited, organisers of the Miss Ghana, is positioning itself to host the Miss World in the near future.
