It may look easy from outside, but it only takes one to venture into the business to see how difficult it is to establish and sustain a radio frequency, pay staff and ensure that the dial meets up to the competition.

Information reaching Razzonline.com has it that, the music maestro, Kojo Antwi, who is indisputably a legend when it comes to belting out music – came, saw, but he is unable to conquer the terrain in broadcasting.

Breeze 90.9FM, belonging to the music legend is said to be on sale after barely 2 years on air.

Sources close to the station claim that various factors have resulted in the decision by the owner to put the station on sale and the selling price is said to be in the range of $3.5million.

The sources also claim that the station has been on ‘underground’ sale for some months now, where only some industry persons and some people involved in radio business are aware.

The paper got in touch with the music maestro, Kojo Antwi to confirm or repudiate the news of the station going on sale and he was not welcoming with his response.

He opted not to pass any comment on the story and after further nudges from the paper, he stated: “It is my business and I don’t want to speak about it.”

Breeze FM commenced test transmission in November 2013 and started full operations somewhere in February 2014.

The then Programmes Director, Ahumaa Daddy Bosco, signed and released a statement on behalf of the station in Accra before the commencement of operations, stating that; Breeze FM was keen on creating a unique brand of radio programming which would reflect Kojo Antwi’s special role in the music industry.

The statement indicated that Breeze FM would present a heady mix of exciting programmes to cater for the current affairs- oriented listener as well as a healthy dose of entertainment and sports.

“Currently, Breeze FM plays a refined selection of music spanning over three decades with the aim of providing a nostalgic yet refreshing experience for its listeners and thereby delivering top of the line value to advertisers,” the statement said.
