Christmas is here again. The men are thinking of how to make it a memorable one. Women are thinking of how to be the best dressed for all the parties coming up. Because our society has turned Christmas into what it is not. People, instead of being happy during Christmas see themselves going through unnecessary pressures just to meet up with the outrageous demands of the season.
This is the season when men lie and cheat against their will just because they must impress their wives, children, relations, and girlfriends. This is a season when some men develop high blood pressure.
Christmas, in the Ghanaian context, is a time when men are forced to ‘perform’ or forever count themselves failures. It is a period when others make you feel inferior just because you fail to ‘meet up.’ Guys, there is more to Christmas than material things.
Like I always say, Christmas is about Christ. It is about showing love to the unlovable and loveless. Christmas is a season when you should remember the less - privileged among us. If Christmas is about Christ, and we believe He is without sin, then we have to keep ourselves undefiled throughout the season. It is not a time to jump from one man to another.
Women give their bodies to whosoever will at this season just because they must show friends that they have ‘arrived.’ Girls are going to end good and promising relationships just for one guy coming in with the ‘waz up’ accent. January will come to help you clear your head and eyes if you don’t do it now.
Maybe you have a different view of Christmas; you could have spent Christmas wrongly before now. But there is always a first time, you can make amends and start enjoying Christmas the right way. Nothing stops you from traveling for Christmas and having a good time with your family if you can but never allow anyone to put you under pressure.
