Italians preaches peace with Cultural Week

The Italian Cultural Week put together by the Italian High Commission and the Italian Community in Ghana, to showcase their rich culture, art, and stories of Italy legends continued on 25th of October, 2013, at the residence of the Italian Ambassador to Ghana.


The day was dedicated for Italian kids and adults who came to enjoy Laura Kibel’s Feet Theatre Puppet Show theme: “Gone with the feet”.


The show which is a unique puppet based theatre, with characters such as feet, knees, hands, legs and stomach of the Laura Kibel was used to tell stories and fables was undoubtedly comical and poetic; accompanied by atmospheric and emotive sound tracks.


Kibel who has won various awards as a musician, costume and set designer for theatre and cinema said the message she tries to get across to kids and adults is to make peace and protection of animals a priority.


Speaking with the High Commissioner at the event, Ambassador Laura Carpini expressed her joy for a successful and fulfilling show, “this made the kids happy; get them familiar with one of Italy’s multiple award winners.”


“It’s so obvious it’s a great evening and am fulfilled that the kids are made to laugh by the puppet show, and I hope this will continue next year”, she added.


The curtain of the cultural week, which will be drawn on26th of October, 2013, at Goethe Institute, will feature “The Salt of Life” movie, directed by Gianni Di Gregorio.
