Jael Wiafe: My Mandate Is To Make Christianity Attractive

Award winning gospel singer, Jael Wiafe is on a media run promoting her new album ‘Keep On Believing’.

After making Ghana proud with her hit song “Don’t Give Up The Fight” which she sang with one of the biggest gospel acts in the world, the Legend Papa San, her new single and video which bears the same name as the title of her album has become an instant hit.

In a recent interview on e.TV’s Afia Schwarzenegger Show when asked by the host if Pastors of today are genuine, she candidly stated that she believes that some of the pastors are doing God’s work in truth whilst others are a bit questionable but she doesn’t think it is in her place to judge anyone as the word of God clearly says ‘let all the weeds and wheat grow together, so at harvest, the weeds will be gathered, tied and burnt’.

She went on to say that she sees our generation’s fear of God has diminished compared to the matriarchs and the patriarchs of old. People used to have a lot of fellowship and time with and for God but these days, with the influx and growth of technology, we sometimes get too busy for fellowship with God and that must change.

The songstress revealed: “among the many issues that keep people from sticking with God and the church is some doctrines based on fallacies which are purported from some pews. People are told that as soon as they join the church and give their lives to God, they will immediately prosper in everything they do.

Whilst this is true as God does turn things around for us, it’s always a process. God works and makes everything beautiful for us in his own time so if the prophecies of prosperity and wealth do not materialize instantly, some people just give up on God because they think God is incapable of solving their problems.

We have to have patience and also love God not just because of what he can do for us as it is already in God’s nature to bless mankind but we should love Him because of who he is.

Jael’s new album ‘Keep On Believing’ has twelve songs which were birthed out of experiences the gospel songstress went through when her businesses collapsed and she lost everything. “It was tough” she said but with God’s assurance of restoration, she didn’t give up but kept on believing in God.

Known for shooting high end videos for her songs, the songstress believes a lot of the youth in Christ look up to her and she has to live up to the billing.

“My mandate is to make Christianity attractive that’s why you see me invest more into creating good music, videos, wardrobe and most importantly my relationship with God.

I believe young Christians need role models to look up to and through my music and ministry, I hope to touch many lives.”

‘Jesus Saved My Life’, ‘Worthy’ and ‘Keep On Believing’ are some of the songs on the upcoming album
