Abeiku Nyame, aka Jaga pee, has made a passionate appeal to President Mahama to support him medically
The veteran actor who started his professional acting in 1984 and played a lead role in the popular ‘TV theatre’ series, has been battling an undisclosed illness for almost a year now.He was recently rushed to the Holy Trinity Hospital at North Kaneshie after going unconscious.
Because of his deteriorating health condition,he was quickly transferred to the 37 military hospital where he was diagnosed with an undisclosed illness.
Jagga Pee,has so far failed to pay the hospital bills estimated at Ghc 2,500.00 meant for medications at both hospitals.
Speaking to Reagan Mends of www.razzonline.com, Jagga appealed to President Mahama to come to his aid through his “Celebrities for Mahama” project:
“My brother Reagan Mends, things are not well for me at all. I have been very sick for almost a year now. money to pay for my hospital bills has been very difficult since i don’t often get jobs like I use to’
“I went unconscious and was admitted at the holy trinity hospital then was later transferred to the 37 military hospital. I still owe the two hospitals Ghc2,500.00 for bills.i can’t pay the bills so am appealing to president Mahama to come to my aid by helping me with his “celebrities for Mahama project”, he told razzonline.com
“Celebrities for Mahama” is a project initiated by president Mahama that seeks to better the welfare of Ghanaian veteran actors and musicians with Mr Beautiful as the coordinator.
Some of the veteran actors who have so far also benefited from President Mahama’s “Celebrities for Mahama” project are C.K. Mann, J.A Adofo, Kohwe, Paapa Yankson, Mr. Mensah, Ewurama Badu and recently William Addo
Jagga Pee, it would be recalled, was charged alongside a music star, Geeman, in 1995 following a shooting incident at the CFC Flats, Dome in Accra, where a taxi driver was killed.
Geeman was sentenced to death while Jagga Pee also got a life sentence but former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s amnesty in commemoration of the country’s 48th independence anniversary was extended to Jagga Pee who immediately relocated to the UK.
He admonished the young actors to be disciplined and not allow the fame get into their heads if they want to be successful in the movie industry
