American rap superstar Shawn Corey Carter well known as Jay Z recently signed Ghanaian-born American artist Vic Mensa on his Roc Nation.
But to the newest sensational hip-life artist from the Volta region, Latino with the hit song "Gankui", Jay Z would have rather signed him if he was living in America because he is musically inclined than Vic Mensa.
Latino was answering a question pertaining to how he sees Ghanaian artists based in the diaspora.
He spoke with Dr.Who, host of hot and classic showbiz review on Hot FM:
"For me Ghanaian artists who make it big in the diaspora are not extraordinary than we the home-based artists. Look if I was living in America, Jay Z would've rather signed me. Vic Mensa is not a good artist, But here I am with such a great talent and yet struggling to break into the international scene because am not in America", Latino told Dr. Who with passion.
After releasing his INNANETAPE in September 2013 and hitting the road as an independent artist for the months that followed, Vic Mensa finally gave up his free agent status by inking a deal with Jay Z's Roc Nation this year.
